Cicada Tree Eco-Place promotes the natural and cultural heritage of Singapore through environmental education and eco-living. It aims to build and enhance the capacity of teachers in nature education, and enhance community development through service-learning projects.
Cicada Tree Eco-Place runs environmental education programmes for individuals, schools, institutions and corporations. They also offer professional guidance on how gardens can be creatively utilized and integrated into the school curriculum, e.g., butterfly gardens, spice/herb gardens and kampong gardens. Students for instance may work together to implement a kampong trail in their school garden, planting local spices, herbs, fruit trees and tagging them with signs about the cultural, medicinal and/or culinary significance of plants.
